Lost property should be handed in to Bute Park Visito r Centre, please call 029 2089 3720.

Mobile phones, keys and wallets/purses will be kept for a few days before being handed over to the police.

We met this family while we were out on patrol – taking inspiration from #AndyGoldsworthy they were creating colourful flower designs under the shade of the trees.

Jays are intelligent birds that are able to store

Jays are intelligent birds that are able to store food throughout the Winter. They favour acorns and with an abundance of acorns in Bute Park they definitely like having their snacks here!
A Jay will take the acorn away and make a hole with its beak in the ground to cache the acorn away. Have you seen any Jays in your gardens?

Big thanks to the Woodland Ranger, who is part of

Big thanks to the Woodland Ranger, who is part of the city’s Community Ranger Team, for organising the removal of the large tree from Blackweir that got stuck here during #StormDennis

The cities’ Bridge Inspector had requested its removal for fear the tree dislodging in high water and causing damage to the downstream bridges.

The ranger team and the Tree Gang have been busy over the last couple of weeks figuring out how to remove the tree, cutting it down in stages and working to remove it from the water and off site.

Fairies love shiny things, particularly things no one else seems to want, like old buttons, charms and paperclips.

While hard to spot, once in a while, while walking in the woods, you might spot the delicate doors to their tiny homes.

We were super lucky to spot this while out on Park Patrol!
