Bute Park is located in the heart of the City, just a short walk from the main high streets and civic centre. You can access the park just beyond Cardiff Castle.

The park is open daily from 7.30am to 30 minutes before sunset.

How to get to the park

Bute Park is very accessible by public transport.

Bute Park is within walking distance from Cardiff city centre and is easily accessible from a number of entrances.

Accessibility

Our location in the city centre and the nature of our site means vehicle access is restricted to operational vehicles only. However, there are several public parking facilities within a short distance.

Pay and display car parking facilities are available nearby in Sophia Gardens (CF11 9LJ), Castle Mews (CF10 3ER) and North Road (CF10 3EA).

For assistance travelling between the car park and park, the Cardiff Mobility Buggy is a free service available for pick up and drop off between two locations in the city centre.

Bute Park Commuter Access

The commuter access route through Bute Park between the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (Fisher’s Bridge) entrance and Millennium Bridge (Sophia Gardens) is open 24 hours.

All other entrances will close half an hour before sunset, please see onsite signage for weekly closing times.
