Visitor Centre Room Hire

Community bookings

The Bute Park Visitor Centre acts as a hub of parks-based information, learning and recreation. We offer:
  • flexible furniture layouts,
  • a variety of presentation options,
  • an easily accessible venue,
  • a well-ventilated space with large sliding doors, and
  • an easy to clean classroom space.
Hire rates are agreed on application. A minimum hire charge of £60 + VAT applies per session (for up to 4 hours). If you would like to hire the Visitor Centre to hold a class, workshop, talk or other public event, please get in touch using the enquiry form.

What do we provide for your booking

 
Use of our small kitchen, adjacent to the classrooms and hot water urn for self-service tea, coffee and drinking water. To help us reduce waste, please suggest to your attendees they bring their own keep cup to use throughout the day.
Access to a large Belfast sink (main classroom)
  Complementary use of whiteboard and/or flip chart (both meeting rooms).
Large ultra-high definition LED screen 75” Samsung TV (main classroom) Large ultra-high definition LED screen 55” LG TV (small meeting room)
Premium Poly USB video conference system suitable for any cloud video platform including Microsoft Teams and Zoom. The intelligent tracking camera will capture an image of whoever is speaking within the room and display them on screen to all, including those joining you remotely. (both meeting rooms)
The Dell™ Docking Station – USB 3.0 connects your laptop to our display screen. You can also “plug and play” various external devices such as external hard drives, wireless keyboard and mouse etc. (one available)
There are 2 wifi options available:
  • Cardiff Free
  • Wifi Fritzbox (14mbps download and 1.5mbps upload speeds)

    The centre can be accessed from 8.30am for set up, and can be used until 5.30pm for set down if required. Please note that during the winter months (November to February), the Education Centre closes before 5pm due to early closing times of the park.

    Self-service tea, coffee and drinking water

    We can provide tea and coffee for the meeting, self-service from our small kitchenette, which adjoins both rooms. There is a charge of £1.24 per head for this provision.

    We can provide cups, tea, coffee, sugar and cow’s milk and oat milk.

    Feel free to bring anything additional with you.

    Buffet lunch

    If you need catering, we can put you in touch with several local businesses who are familiar with our venue.

    Room Required

    The centre can be accessed from 08:30 for set up, and can be used until 17:30 for completing set down if required. Please note that during the winter months (November to February), the Visitor Centre closes before 5pm as we only operate within official park opening times.

    One of our team will discuss this with you and if your booking has to be shortened due to our seasonal operating times, we can offer a 20% discount on our full day rates.

    Please note

    Invoicing: You will be invoiced for the hire of the centre after the date of your event.

    Cancellation Policy: Please provide at least 2 working days’ notice otherwise you will be invoiced the full room hire amount.

    A minimum hire charge of £62 + VAT applies per session (up to 4 hours).
