Pipistrelles are tiny bats with reddish-brown coat Pipistrelles are tiny bats with reddish-brown coats and blackish-brown ears, nose and wing membranes. They are common throughout Britain and can we found in Bute Park. Like other bats, pipistrelles are nocturnal. They emerge at dusk to feed for a couple of hours before returning to their roosts. A single pipistrelle can eat 3,000 gnats in one night. #WildBute #butepark #batman

They meticulously go through hedges to search for insects, snails, worms, frogs and even snakes.
