Storm Dennis has left Bute Park with plenty of clean-up work to do – Can you lend a hand?
This session will focus on cleaning up some areas of the park affected by Storm Dennis.
*LOCATION UPDATE* We will meet on the area of hard standing on the south of Coopers Field.
Vicky our Ranger will lead the session and be able to provide the equipment needed but if you have your own gloves and litter picking equipment, please bring it along.
Please wear wellies, boots or stout shoes, and suitable ‘working’ clothing.
You might also want to bring waterproofs in case of wet weather.
*CAR PARKING ADVICE* For those travelling by car please remember that the city centre will be busy with match day traffic – we suggest using the north road car park – CF10 3DU – (north of RWCMD and near the ambulance station/speed camera). Sophia Gardens will be in “event mode” with an all-day parking charge in place.

CARDIFF RIVERS GROUP CLEAN UP – Blackweir, Pontcanna Fields & Bute Park – Sunday, 23 February, 9:45am – 1:00pm
On Sunday 23rd February Cardiff Rivers Group will have the first of what will be several events to help clean up Cardiff after Storm Dennis.
The first one will be in Blackweir, Pontcanna Fields and the northern end of Bute Park, which were all flooded and have had loads of rubbish deposited on them. They are keen to get as many people along as possible, to make as much of a difference as we can.
Meet just downstream from Blackweir Bridge, on the Blackweir Woods/North Road side at 09:45 for a 10:00 start (look out for our purple 4×4 and trailer). We’ll be there until about 13:00, but you need only stay as long as you want!
All ages and abilities welcome! There will be something for everyone to do, but children must be accompanied.
All tools and equipment — gloves, litter-pickers, bags, hoops,
safety glasses, etc — will be provided. (But if you have your own litter picking equipment, please bring it along. We sometimes get so many volunteers now that we do risk running out of things!)
Please wear wellies, boots or stout shoes, and suitable ‘working’ clothing.
You might also want to bring waterproofs in case of wet weather.
