Road Closures for Pride on Saturday 13 June

The Pride Cymru Parade will be taking place on Saturday 13 June, and road closures in the city centre will be put place to facilitate this event.

The Pride Parade will start at 11am on Saturday 13 June and is expected to finish at 2:30pm, but Castle Street will remain closed until midnight.

The parade will start on Westgate Street, onto:

  • Castle Street,
  • High Street,
  • St Mary Street,
  • Mill Lane,
  • The Hayes,
  • John Street,
  • Park Place,
  • Greyfriars Road,
  • Kingsway,
  • Duke Street, and
  • back onto Castle Street.

Given this, roads will be closed to set up the event and for the event itself.

On Saturday 13 June from 6am until midnight, the following roads will be closed to set up and take down the arrangements for the parade:

  • Castle Street from the junction with Westgate Street, Duke Street, Kingsway to the junction with North Road
  • Cowbridge Road East from the junction with Cathedral Road.

Please note: Cowbridge Road East from the junction with Cathedral Road will be accessible for residents, buses and taxis from:

  • 6am to 8am, and
  • 2:30pm until midnight.

From 8am until 2:30pm:

To facilitate the parade, there will be a rolling road closure. The roads will be re-opened as the parade passes each area and will be re-opened when it is deemed safe to do so:

  • Westgate Street,
  • Quay Street,
  • Guildhall Place,
  • Golate,
  • High Street, and
  • St Mary Street.           

From 10am until 2pm:

  • Wood Street, Central Square, Park Street, Havelock Street and Scott Road
  • St Mary’s St from the junction with Wood Street, Mill Lane, The Hayes, John Street, Queen Street, Park Place and Greyfairs Road from the junction with Boulevard De Nantes through to Kingsway.

Note: access to the bus interchange via Tudor Street and Wood Street will be maintained.

Due to the road closures that will be put in place, from 11am until 1:15pm, Cardiff Bus is advising customers that buses will divert to specific stops, as they do for any large events in the Principality Stadium – either Churchill Way for the east, Greyfriars Road for the north or Tudor Street for the west. The Bus Interchange will remain open via Tudor Street and Wood Street.
