William Burges had a Gothic Revival architecture style and so many of his architectural designs are extremely well detailed and look like fairy palaces because of the luxurious art work incorporated into his designs.
Burges’s most notable works are Cardiff Castle, constructed between 1866 and 1928, and Castell Coch (1872-91), both of which were built for John Crichton-Stuart, 3rd Marquess of Bute.
Castell Coch is another castle designed by William Burges, which stands out from the side of the hill and is visible from the A470, North of Cardiff.
