Thanks to the 16 members of staff from JLL Cardiff who braved a rainy start yesterday to volunteer in Bute Park with a Community Ranger and the Education Officer.
The group moved a large pile of chipped bark by wheelbarrow to the balance trail for children behind the Summerhouse Café, which will provide a safe landing area under each element of the trail. The afternoon was spent pulling Himalayan Balsam from the woodland floor at Blackweir; this extremely invasive plant is removed by hand to allow the native plants to thrive in this area.
Thanks again to JLL Cardiff for all of your hard work, and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
This is the first of a number of companies who will be volunteering in Bute Park over the next few months. If you and your colleagues would like to get involved, please email butepark@Cardiff.gov.uk 🙂
