Do you have a passion for working outdoors and a desire to develop a career in horticulture?

An exciting opportunity exists to join Cardiff Council’s Parks Services as a Parks & Cemeteries paid apprentice.

As part of the 3-4 year Apprenticeship Scheme you will be required to undertake a course of study leading to formal qualifications in Level 2 Horticulture, supplemented by a tailored programme of in-house practical training.

You will also be working with a number of specialist teams on a wide range of operations, including Ornamental Horticulture, Sport and Fine Turf, Bereavement Services, Community and Urban Ranger Service and the Arboricultural Unit.

You will be working outdoors in Cardiff’s beautiful parks, helping to deliver seasonal floral displays, providing high quality sports pitch provision and enhancing the city’s proud horticultural heritage.

This Apprenticeship Scheme is an ideal way for the right candidates to gain quality experience in a wide range of outdoor operations, and to develop a career in Horticulture and Open Space Management.

You will require at least three GCSE qualifications at grade C or above.
